Yup, the suspension was set on the Shipping mode to avoid the bikes bouncing up and down on transit. Once adjusted you will find it more comfortable. Enjoy your new ride. 👊👊👊

I actually aligned mine as well when I was fitting my roundels. Not because I am a**l or anything like it, it was just pure proper finishing. If you present the screws in the desired end position, you just tighten them up and 9 out of 10 they will land on the same orientation. 😉
Take it to the garage mate, it is probably something silly but it is not normal. They should be able to diagnose the issue pretty quickly. Keep us posted and best of luck.
Indeed does not sound right for a new machine.
In my experience (mainly with carburettors engines) the surge is either carburettor’s injectors needs cleaning - not your case) poor fuel quality, fuel pump not working properly, fuel filter dirty, vacuum leak, air filter dirty, dirty spark plugs...
