Was just looking through my inbox and noticed Scott’s name appears as “deleted member 1618” now. He’s a hugely active contributor here, so wondering if he, or anyone in the know, can let us know what happened.
Hoping for a check in to know everything’s alright!
The modes are still there. I’m in Rock mode unless there’s water on the ground, so I don’t have as much to say about the other two modes. But they remain different, I do know that much!
The price of entry is substantial, for sure. And is it worth it? I guess that depends on what $1000 means to anyone pondering the purchase. I can attest to the silky throttle response. I've never ridden a "fast" bike, but I'm at a good pace before I can even think, and the bike isn't working...
From what I've read here, dealers can't even replace a broken light with an unbroken unit, as the unit is deemed faulty and is under recall. Sadly, those in your situation are SOL until BMW arrives with the new replacement, which has been rumored to be any point over the summer months.
I did the brentune and the dna kit with the frame. Granted, I didn't have a ton of miles on it stock, but I'm altogether impressed with how the bike runs. Smooth, smooth, smooth. Pulls and keeps pulling. No dead spots, no catchy throttle. And it moves! I wouldn't need any quicker of a bike...
Just bought this:

Gotta say, in the brief two hours of wearing it on the bike, it's the most comfortable I've ever been behind the handlebars. Was close to 80 degrees when I started...
There’s also the SLR tune, but far less info or user experiences available online. I did the BT and really like how it irons out the wrinkles of the stock tune.
The tune won’t “void” your warranty, but you’d need to reload the stock tune before heading to the shop for work. There’d be no...
Just grabbed a Corbin TC seat off a fella on the site that traded on to a different bike. Trying to figure out how you have that BMW plate attached over the seat bracket. Is it just floating? My bracket is too wide to fit into the notch on the cover so I’ve just got the naked bracket going.
You need to side load the google play store on the fire tablet in order to get the correct Motoscan app. Follow this guide and you’re good to go. https://www.howtogeek.com/232726/how-to-install-the-google-play-store-on-your-amazon-fire-tablet/
JW Speaker makes a non-mechanical adaptive headlight where additional leds light as you lean one way or the other. From what I understand, JW makes these R18B and TC lights also. While I can appreciate the complexity and engineering that went into this light, it’s just the more parts the more...
Ha! Can’t compete with a damn thing if you can’t sell the bike! I don’t know thing one about how these decisions are made, but knowing what I know about Harley, I gotta think most people shopping for Harley end up with a Harley. I don’t know that even the best of BMW or Indian or anyone else...
I got my 2023 B in late September for a flipping SONG. No idea how long the dealer had it, but it was a no haggle deal and they gave me thousands off. Couldn’t say no.
So I get the artificial scarcity if that’s the game. I also wonder if folks will cross shop the R12 with the R18 and how...
It feels more and more wild as time goes by with not even a minimal update from BMW. They’ll have their whole manufactured fleet of R18Bs and TCs sitting around unsellable until they create a fix. I assume the 2024s are impacted as well, so no one in the market for these bikes can have one. And...
