Check out the post link below. Wunderlich windshield deflector and Memphis Shades fork deflectors solved the wind noise and buffeting. Keeping in mind it’s still a windshield machine and will never be as quiet as a well designed full fairing.
Thread 'Lower Wind Deflectors'...
While I never expected the R18 Classic to be a touring machine in the same league as the R1200 RT, or the mighty K1600, I was quite disappointed with the initial seat comfort and wind noise and buffet on the machine. I now have it to where cruising a 500 mile day at 75-90 mph is comfortable...
Ok as promised - the Memphis shades fork deflectors are on and definitely make a big difference. Airflow from below and around the tank almost gone. Helmet buffet and noise from below is almost nil. Did a nice 400 mile day and felt noticeably fresher at the end. Installation took 15 minutes.
Yes. I ordered the deflector and mount for the Yamaha XV1900. Part sku is MEM5804 for the deflector and MEK1980 for the mount. I’ll post once I’ve got them.
Sounds like the dealer never set the suspension spring preload before the test. Like a lot of other reviews did. When set up the bike corners better than any comparable Harley, and the ride is quite comfortable. And the engine is wonderful.
Wondering if anyone has come across or is using a fork mounted lower wind deflector that will work on the R18. Perhaps something from Memphis Shades or another after market supplier? Most of the wind noise on the Classic is coming from below.
