There are no pictures of the "Rocktane". Any photos you see are existing images of the R18.
No one has information on timeline because it hasn't been announced yet.
Earliest I'd speculate that it'd be announced is early July during the Motorrad days event.
For anyone looking for part numbers for the OEM windshield options.
TC and B share mounting points, so all windshields fit both models.
"Masked" is a tinted section on the lower portion of the windsheild. A visual representation of that is shown in the 2'd windshield in the graphic below...
I've got one with no markup.
MSRP + $499 doc + tax (we handle title / registration for whatever state you're in with our Doc fee). No freight / setup / other fees.
We usually use Haul Bikes for shipping nationwide.
For anyone else that wants a part number for this.
Note: the 'kit' is just the bracket, cap and hardware for the cap to mount to the bracket. The seat comes with hardware for the seat. 4 M10X35-8.8 bolts are required to be ordered to mount the bracket. The luggage rack part number is not shown...
Correct. There's a small black rack that BMW designed to mount to these ~10mm holes in the bracket.
BMW discontinued this part # in December, then re-introduced it in January, though they haven't actually produced any as far as I can tell. I've got a parts TSARA case open regarding the part...
I have it installed on my Bagger.
Note: This is with a TransContinental Comfort seat, which is substantially thicker than a Bagger seat, and 0.75" thicker than even the standard TC seat. It'll be higher up on the passengers back with a bagger seat, though my passenger likes it where it...
I deal with these bikes every day and have ridden over a dozen of them and yet it took me looking at a diagram to realize it. Props to BMW for the quality part there making that not so noticeable.
I’m surprised we still have ours on the floor for sale. The 100 year R9T went right away, but the R18 hasn’t gotten much attention.
They did a great job with that anniversary edition imo.
Installed the BMW backrest alongside the TC Comfort seat for my passenger process.
Made a splitter for the factory horn connector to add a 510hz horn from a K1600 to go along with the 420hz stock horn so the R18 sounds like a K1600.
I’ve always been a huge fan of the way the recent K1600 horns sound. In my opinion, they sound very similar to a mid-size car and I like that.
This is due to the K1600s using two horns. One 420hz and one 510hz.
The R18 comes with a single horn, and it’s the same 420hz as one of the K1600...
The internal screw is tack-welded. You need to grind that weld spot off.
The end caps are pressed in tightly. Use a rubber mallet to help knock it loose if needed. If you don't have this, you can try twisting the end cap back and forth to work it out. Getting it back on may be a challenge, as...
