WOW Its perfectly normal, so is the not exactly same engagement point. It is a slipper clutch. Just dump it in first gear. The bike just takes off.

I can ride my R18 FE ALL DAY. When I bought it, I rode home 1100 miles. It now has 25,000 miles and is most comfortable for me. 5 feet seven inches, one hundred eighty pounds.

They are just same old tube forks. Item 5 in the parts sheet says
"valve". Looks like the rest of the bikes I converted to Race Tech Emulators.
I put YSS valves in my forks with 10 wt fork oil.

Interesting. I got 9,000 miles out of the original Michelin front tire. 9,000 out of the next one exact same tire.
I got 19,000 MILES out of the rear. Michelin commander III.
Put Dunlap American Elite white walls on. Wearing fast so far.
