No way. Your bubbles are fine. The R18 is a beautiful motorcycle by anybody’s standards. The RT is functional and can grow on you, but the R18 is a ‘motorcycle’ (according to my daughter). Her first words on seeing my older XR - ‘you bought a scooter?’ 🙃😊

Hi all With bittersweet feelings, I am no longer a part of this special and small community of R18 riders. A few days ago, I traded in my R18 for an RT. I am happy with the RT, but I also miss the sheer beauty and visceral presence of the R18. Here are some points that will hopefully justify...

I've gotten so used to the whine now, it doesn't even bother me anymore. Regardless, would love to see a solution that works.

If I could change it, I'd swap out my FE for a standard. The FE has just too much chrome in my opinion and while that is what some folks prefer, it's not my personal preference. Getting a killer deal was hard to resist, and it only applied to the one FE the dealer had so....still love the...

David, does the rack fit onto the backrest? I couldn't tell on the website. EDIT: Yeah I guess it does - the holes look like they line up with the joint on the backrest. I am considering this option - for the price, it looks pretty decent.

Back home - no resolution. I can't tell if the ambient sound was too high (there is a freeway overpass right next to the building), or just my bad luck, but I could not hear (or demonstrate) the whine to the tech. Soon as I get on the bike and jump on the freeway, there it is again. Anyway...
