Made trade from classic to bagger

Sigh, if only I can physically handle the bagger I'd do the same. Beautiful bike.

You meet the nicest people on the R18...

And as I was leaving the restaurant heading towards the parking lot I noticed this couple taking pictures of my R18 FE. And before you know it a 20 - 25 minute conversation just passed! The gentleman rides a Road Glide and the lady an Indian - they were just taken aback by how beautiful they...

    Air cooled engine worries.

I'll add that I too experienced a 'cel' and I attributed it to stop and go traffic (those in Boston, it's 93 S expressway in the tunnel). The bike went into limp mode. And in time it error warning just cleared itself. Like the OP, I too am leery of it.

    Code cleared by itself

So I'm about to tow to the dealer and fired it up for quick spin. At first the codes were still there, but after a couple of blocks they went away. Codes were related to the engine temp and possible misfiring. Which at the time they occurred made sense (stop and go traffic coupled with some...

Fault code - where can I find what they mean

You're correct. The bike in under roadside coverage, and will go with that. Hopefully the tow company they send is capable! I have no experience of getting anything towed - much less a motorcycle.

Fault code - where can I find what they mean

Thank you! Unfortunately my dealer isn't able to pick up the bike. So I am left with either towing or riding it (30 miles). Not fond of towing- opinions on is it 'safe' to ride? Should I clear the codes?

Fault code - where can I find what they mean

Hi all Have the following codes 3A1901 and 3A1DA0 I used Motoscan / OBDLink LX. Honestly unsure if I used the app right, but I pulled the above codes. This is because my check engine light came on (steady, on, not blinking) as the bike went into limp mode on the highway (half power). Thanks...

    BT moto TUNER :Awesome!

This is good to know! I don't care for the vibrations at idle myself. Does it dampen the vibrations at speed too? Wishing for the 'rock' ride mode's response, but don't care for the exaggerated vibration that goes with it.

Tips on keeping the bike pristine - I live steps from the ocean with no garage

I have ACF on order. I just need to be careful and not to apply to the tires and brakes. Though I dearly want to use them on the rims/spokes. That rusted badly on my prev bike. Just trying to wrap my head around the fact that it is, by all accounts, safe to use on 'anything' (chrome? wires?)...

    Customs R18

Had a similar gas cap on my bobber. Monza I think it was called? Very handy, but the one I had was poor quality.

Tips on keeping the bike pristine - I live steps from the ocean with no garage

Hello all - My soon-to-be ex-bike (Triumph Bobber Black) came down with rust issues after the first year I owned it. I am looking for help so the same does not happen (well, maybe best case is minimize) the same from happening to my (soon to be here) R18 FE. I am hoping to get permission from...
