I have a ´22 base R18 to which I mounted a sidecar.

Added a valanced mud guard, a metal oil cooler cover, an extended reverse lever and a cute luggage rack matching that on the sidecar boot.

It looks réally classic, retro, vintage. So much so that surprisingly many think it ís vintage.

The 'problem':
Would like to spoil myself and spend some €€s on her, but...
Don´t like electronic gadgets and want to keep with the vintage look which precluded them anyway.
So, 'period' accessories?
Can not remember we had anything like accessories say 60 years ago.
Suggestions anyone?

Thanks.

I think the ROCTANE headlight bucket with the integrated speedometer would be a nice classic addition...

I'm not sure, but I think the existing speedometer gets repurposed within the new headlight assembly.

Check in with @kate_brett

Vintage scooters being a HÚGE thing over here, detail like above are reproduced by the original fabricators and easily found and beer money.
This 25 cm. chrome flag 'pole' is all but mandatory :p

We have to thank a member here ( Didi - first name , Walter ) for the conversion process ( instructions ). Search on this site “ Headlight of the Roctane for the R18 ( Classic )”. Or go to www.r1800wiki.org/en/2024/07/01/roctane-scheinwerfer-auf-r18/

Roctane or Classic front mudguard (painted and pinstriped, of course).
The bobber seat needs to look more old fashioned.
Maybe the chrome reservoirs, etc on the handlebar should be black.
Apart from that, rip off those two brake disc things from the front wheel and then we’re talking 😂.
Your H is art on wheels.

For a classy euro rig like yours, I'd just pick up something by the side of the road like this.... just make sure she has some cheese somewhere. Dog should still fit.

Wubbah saddle and pin striped front mud guard are sorted.

Have a spare helmet in the boot for picking up ... 😇

Looking for the vintage/historic stuff is a shocking reality check. I mean the tax stickers go far, fár back. Till 5 years áfter I was born

And the feed back / suggestions are much appreciated 👌

btw an example of what is available off the shelf here

a woman's side saddle seat.

Reed baskets and stuff, even cheese making 'baskets' and herder's sling shots are still normal things although now a literally dying craft as the artisans are well elderly. Still widely for sale.
Note to self; ask when the feria de ganado in Villanueva de Tapia is. A live stock market in a village just up the road. Will no doubt find some  stuff in the stalls.

A woman as dressed above is nothing worth a second look up in the mountain village here either. Still normal attire for housewives et al.

Have you posted a picture lately? Would help us visualize where you are going with it. I’ve put rubber lever ends on both of mine, not sure if it’s anything you are interested in. Pic below.

So next is to add a chrome edge to the windscreen and the retro sixties registration and tax things.
And other retro/period look details.
Still on the fence on the vintage ignition key and fittings. My NSU Max, BMW R26 and Dnepr MT16 had it.

Thanks for the rubber ends suggestion but no.

Ignition key cover and key ordered. Because the BMW design is rather long, went for the more compact IFA/MZ design. Will decide on making the key fit later. It will probably look better without.

Perhaps a nice Maschinengewehr 34 for that extra je ne sais quoi.
