Purchased from BMW dealer,Made in BOSCH GERMANY. High quality and very strong.

PART NUMBER IS BMW PARTS NUMBER!
1.BASIC SUPPORT PLATE FOR JACK SECURE.
2 SCISSOR JACK IT OWN.

3.R18 FRAME ADAPTER 83 30 5 A 24474

Have used this jack for 15 years, for a Harley FXR, Ducati 907ie, BMW T1200R, BMW KA1600B, and the BMW R18.
I use two of then to remove both wheels at once, short 10mm studs or 10mm set screws into the 4 tapped holes, 2 on the engine and 2 on transmission, or just the 2 10mm holes in the frame for the exhaust mounts.

R18 and classic use the adapter to secure jack mount point.so we can work under safe and easier. Because R18 frame mount design is way different to other motorcycle.

There are four 10mm threaded holes on the underside of the notocycle, 2 st the front of the engine and 2 ar the back uf the trabnission specifically for the installation a lift jig.
Removal of the muffler hanger from the frame yeild two more 10mm rapped holes in the frame that can be used lifting.

They're both terrific. Black Dog, you modified your universal jack effectively and it sounds like it worked flawlessly. You have access to all sorts of amazing tools and machine shop stuff that others don't, and you make great use of it. Niechiamao, would it be correct to say that a person could buy the adaptor (BMW part 83 30 5 A 24474) and use it with most scissors jacks?

/still can't find it. A few German sites. No description. Link?

The Amazon Scissor jack with some 10mm studs work perfectly, see pictures, with 2 of the jacks and 4 studs both wheels can be removed at the same time, or the goke lifted high enough to make oil changes a simple matter. Since I already had the jacks the cost was essentially zero for me. Just cut the heads off four 10mm bolts.

All it took was a hack saw to cut the heads off the 10mm bolts.
The jacks are actually supplied with adapters that work just fine.
BMW does actually make an adapter that bolts to the four hole in the bottom of the engine for about $500 but you still need the scissor jack.

Many different size of the scissor jack in the market, but I can not find one fit this adapter!
So I just order bmw scissor jack from bmw!
You might need go to dealer and tell them you need one! (I try web search this part number but no image anywhere)They will order it for you from bmw took about 8 weeks to arrive (I am in ottawa canada),but I think you can try Black Dog his way mabye better!

Here is another excellent example of what I am talking about.
I knew I could not be the only one to figure this out.
Although I do use mine on the lift to allow for adjustable working height. Will post more detailed pictures next time I have the R18 on the lift.
Note, the rear jack is using the muffler mount holes in the frame and the front jack is using the tapped holes in the bottom front of the motor.
Both jacks are generic, even the same color as the one I use, although they could be repainted and a BMW badge could be added for $300 each.199533194_1400183540349414_3028353581312324273_n.jpg

Part numbers please??
3.R18 FRAME ADAPTER 83 30 5 A 24474
Be prepared to spend about $700 for one setup, that is if you can find the BMW specific parts.
Or less than $200 for 2 from Amazon and do as the above photo shows.
Will try to post complete pictures of ny rendition of this setup in the next week, time for another oil change on the R18.
