Update:
The recall work is done.
The error light on the dash is still a thing. And it goes away as soon as you put it into gear. So exactly how much a thing it is up for debate.
She's still for sale but I'm a little less willing to bargain. Didn't get me anywhere and am kinda weirdly content...
Well, let's see. Four offers, all for less than my asking price. I reluctantly accepted one. He agreed. And then ghosted. I contacted one of the others. And all of sudden, not so interested. I have no idea. It's but a buyers market I guess. At the end of the day, I imagine I'll be in someone's...
Hey everyone. Lots of nibbles and a couple offers but not sold yet. If anyone is on the fence, best make yourself known. I'm not looking to drag this out.
More than just the error light, the WalzWerks tail end should light yellow when signaling and red when braking. Mine is always red. Flashing, braking, always red. That loss of functionality is as annoying as the dang error light. Good luck

Did you wire resistors as pictured in the video? So mine came with a couple resistors and basically no instructions. I emailed with questions and was told, nicely, to take a hike. I persisted and was reminded that the US version's canbus was weird and that a specialty shop had to do the install...
Glad it worked! The red and black wires terminating in the thing that looks like a nipple in my drawing are the wires to the license plate light. Hook those to the white and black wires from your light. Regarding the error light on the dash, short answer is yes, it'll go off on its own after...
