Exhaust flapper mod

Over a year ago, there was quite a bit of discussion about removing the exhaust flapper cables and replacing the servos with "servo buddies". Has anyone since learned of a good reason to not do that? Were there any oops sounds coming from those who did this mod?

Nope, does the job.

Edited for more context....

I haven't even put servo buddies on mine. I removed the servos and drilled out the stock exhaust around july of 2023. I just taped up the plug for the servo and the servo itself now resides on a shelf. No warning lights have appeared.

I removed my servo's and added the buddies..... no issues.... happy with the sound.

Recently when I had a moment, and dropped my front wheel into a ditch my bike came to rest on the sump after a little bit of scraping (just the right amount as it turned out).... I experienced no damage to the servo's, as they are on the shelf in my shed. So in a way, that was one benefit of removing them.....

Also, on my 21 r ninet I just disconected the servo cables with no servo buddie a few years ago. Online thought suggests that the bike does throw a code but not a warning light. My experience is in line with this.... no lights and there is a code when looking via the obd port... BMW have never mentioned it when servicing the bike (2 services).

Servo is happy and tucked in on a shelf. Cables are out, servo buddies are in. My bike is also Brentuned, and never threw a code.
