    My 10cts

Fwiw.... I tend to tight turn my R18 like this: My thoughts were that the long wheel base requires me to lower (push down) the bike more to get a tighter turning radius.... off course dragging some rear brake etc.

    Wilbers Shock on base model.

No pillion or luggage for me.... so once sag is set I don't find a need to adjust spring preload.... so I wemt for the basic collar.

    My 10cts

I'm pre programmed from the late 60's and early 70's, when as a child between the age of 6 to 15 you rode, made/built and mostly destroyed every two wheel thing without any written understanding of much. Just about everything was ridable and fun with right attitude, enough speed and risky...

Information I bought Ohlins so you don't have to (BM 180 Install + Review)

Fwiw... I just went springs and emulators.... worked fine.

    Stiff rear suspension

Howdy.... Yes I have the +20mm 640.... very happy with it.... I'm 75kg plus say 10kg in riding gear.... can set the correct rider sag easily (about 30% of travel... travel is 115mm) and get a compliant ride. If I bought an R18 again I'd get the same shock again.... (but not selling my 18!).

    Stiff rear suspension

If talking rear shock.... the dampening is also to poor... as in harsh.

    Stiff rear suspension

Yes..... over sprung and damped for a normal weight rider on nonperfect roads at everyday speeds. I recommend a +20mm Wilbers sprung to your situation. Keep in mind the bike payload is over 200kg.... so for 80kg me it was never going to work optimally.

Has one just removed the engine plaques and ridden the bike to see if it is worth it?

    Reverse Recall done

I commented elsewhere on this.... mine had something similar when I got it home after the reverse recall.... I'm a bit vague on it now bit I think the date wasn't set correctly..... after setting it the service icon went away. Of course I may have been abducted by aliens in the way home and...

    BMW R18 Homage seat install

I settled on 25mm bar spacers as well as rotating the bars a bit.... 50mm ones were a bit to much.... to upright for 80kmh plus.

What did you do to your R18 today?

Nice. Any ride impressions regarding the tune and filter?

What did you do to your R18 today?

Tried out reverse after the recall fix.... does feel a bit more gentle now..... also did the bren tune reload thing ($200 for device reset and new map after dealer ecu update with reverse recall). Runs much better with the tune. All is back to being good in my R18 world.

On 98 and low revs but high throttle.... told you so..... haha Bren tune will add about the same again.

    Exhaust Servo

not that it matters, but I would expect error codes to be logged..... so a gs111/dealer/obd reader etc would see them.... but nothing on the instruments. Off course what that might mean to a dealer would vary...... depending on the country you are in/their attitude/what you are asking for etc.
