    Clock stays at 12:00 PM

Had this issue on my R9t. Disconnect the positive lead from the battery bus, wait a few seconds then reconnect. It should reset the internal clock and allow memory.

    2024 R18 Roctane Touring Build

perhaps you could buy a classic headlight assembly and gauge so you don't have a hole in the headlight fairing of the roctane. it looks good and you've made the roctane into a distance bike.

Which inner Tube for 180/65B16 on BMW R18 Classic??

Is that for both tires? Glad I saw this. I assumed any tube would work and bought tubes for 16-inch tires. Disregard, I see that it's just for the rear and the front is different as well. Thanks for this post.

    Brake pad change

Bleed the brakes and changed the pads all around. Got 18k miles out of the stock pads and probably could have gone another 5k before really needing to change them. What mileage are yall seeing?

    Future R18 owner

i know there is a tach display option in the speedometer digital display window. i'd like to have a dedicated tach like the Wunderlich version: https://www.wunderlichamerica.com/wunderlich-tachometer-blackchrome.html unfortunately it doesn't fit the classic with the windshield; thought someone...

    Future R18 owner

Cruise control set at 72 mph on the interstate is about 2650 rpms and approximately 45 mpg. You feel the engine but not enough to get numb due to vibration. Been commuting 1 hour 20 minutes each way on my classic since March and I’m very surprised at what a nice commuter it is. Lovely bikes all...

Just installed a lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery

I haven't put a Lithium battery in my R18 yet however I've put them in 2 other BMWs - R9T and S1000rr and did not have to code the battery type. I don't believe the bike knows the difference just that the charge is correct and the charging system charges the battery. 18+ volts is an error or a...

    Final drive leak repair question.....

Haven’t had issues with the R18 drain plug but my R9t plug was torqued by an angry elephant. The bolt stripped nicely and cost me $200 to get a professional to extract. Word of caution, check/ remove the fill plug before draining any fluid.

Help/Advice needed for front fork springs replacement

Yes to thread locker or maybe crazy glue on my fork caps. I really struggled getting them off. As far as getting them back on, there was no way for me to get them started by hand. I couldn’t even come close. I did use 20wt oil so maybe that made the difference. Thanks for the update.

So what the word on the Wilburs springs? You got me thinking about it. Also I’m stealing your fork press idea.

    Question Dealership valve checks

Dealer checked my valves at 6k and made some adjustments. I did my own at 12k and did some adjustments as well. I wouldn’t trust the shop that disregards OEM service schedule. On the off chance something goes bad with the motor, BMW will ask if all the service was completed per requirements and...
