    Faulty ignition switch (start button)

Sorry, haven't heard of anyone doing this particular operation. Is the kickstand safety switch okay? That can create a non-start situation. Also the neutral safety switch. Let us know what you learn! Here is a thread that discusses starting issues, etc...

    My 10cts

Petrus, I believe this is quite acceptable, thank you. I understand the other flow restrictions you are addressing. I will still need to acquire an aftermarket 'sports filter' and will look in to the Sprint. Regards, Cu Dubh

    My 10cts

Petrus, I think another member asked this but I didn't see a reply... is there any possibility you, or your son, would be willing to share the file for printing the side/air intake covers? Or perhaps offer some covers for sale, like the UK creator of the original Tobinators for the R1150GS did...

What did you do to your R18 today?

Yes, I did. I bought the Hornig extenders. They may not have been necessary after I switched the levers but I already had them on the bike so left them on.

What did you do to your R18 today?

I had this issue when adjusting my shifter levers. If you have not already done so, try this... I swapped the inner & outer lever positions on the shaft: moved the rear shift lever to the outside and the front shift lever to the inside of the shaft. Hope this helps.

Long time Beemer Lover first time TC owner.

Petrus, life is a grand adventure or... An acquaintance I worked with in California (and did one epic ride with 3 others, criss-crossing the U.S.), moved to Portugal after retiring. I would have done similar but wife was not interested in being an expat. Fortunately she is still interested in...

Long time Beemer Lover first time TC owner.

LBV, I know! After over 40 years in California the last time, 5 years ago we moved from California to Pennsylvania, back to where we grew up. We had our first snowfall today. Coincidentally, this morning the BMW dealership picked up my bike for it's winter service. I enjoy the riding here in PA...

Long time Beemer Lover first time TC owner.

Welcome aboard! We used to live in Santa Cruz, and many years ago, in Vacaville & in Vallejo. There's access to great riding all around there! My experience is similar: after 20 years (!), my wife no longer likes riding pillion on the 1150 GS (we're in our mid-60s). I ended up purchasing the...

Modifying for Tall Riders: A Comfort Guide

Same here, reversing the levers really helped fit the bike to me. FWIW, I used the Hornig shifter extenders.
