    The haters´ magnifying glass

Please look up ´racism´. I get and sort of second your point but I did laugh out loud about your understanding and use of the language you claim is the simplest :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: Btw for us forrinahs English is a véry confusing language. It is totally on par with the use of thumbs and feet...

    Sidecar mountings

@laennecr Still muddling ahead with informing myself proplery about sidecar install. Latest is that the vehicle electrics/electronics specialist ánd the ´nearest´ BMW dealer are clueless about the R18 can-bus. Looks I will have to do that myself. Do you have any pointers starting with where I...

    My 10cts

The sidecar idea is still burning on the backburner. Over here the actual physical/technical bit is not the challenge; the paperwork to have it legal on the road is and thén some. I have an independent cár garage at 50 meters, just the other side of the bridge. The owner and only mechanic is a...

to chinese or no to chinese

in the larger scheme of things it does not matter and will be ok anywhichway: Change happens and a new balance will establish. And that ´us´ is as much us plebs as our span of control reaches. Same thing ... ´we´ did destroy the two richests cultures in past centuries; India and China, to...

A perspective for us dinosaurs: 2006 344’000 Harleys sold worldwide. 2024 151’000. Turning up the prices does not change the underlying reality.

to chinese or no to chinese

As observed there is probably a bit nuance to ´copy´. In most cases the original was fabricated in China already. The Chinese shifter I got from China is pretty much ok and for the price VGVFM. Here a nice quote lifted from the German R18 forum: ´Die neuen G450er Modelle werden in Indien...

and that is only partly true because of differences in production costs. That is not even mentioning brand ´added value´.

    The haters´ magnifying glass

ahhhh, prices. The whole market for larger motorcycles is seriously sliding down a slippery slope. It is a combination of economy and the baby boomers getting past their sell by date. In Germany the market has fallen 25%. As such ALL cruisers are bruising. It stands to reason that a new kid...

When you buy from a seller in China, you know the product is Made in China. When you buy from a manufacturar in say Spain with in house production, you know it is Made in Spain. Buying something from a European or US based after market seller, no matter how renowned, you may get Made in...
