I rode the bike for about four hours between yesterday and today, and I like the bars. I have them, so my arms are basically straight out with a slight bend in the elbow, and it just feels perfect. What I also noticed is that it allows you to counter-steer easier, and it just feels like a more...
Lots of work on the bagger over the last week. New tires front and back, Helibar luggage bars installed, and I just finished installing the Helibar tour commander bars. It’s not a complicated installation, just tedious. Now, out to go for a ride!
I have a good supply of grommets from some other projects and installed them behind the light. The batwing fairing has a pin that goes through the lower holes on the headlight assembly and the grommets. The light is now solid. I’m curious to know if similar grommets should have been there in the...
All I did, just like any other wheel removal was to remove the two bolts holding the caliper and set it aside. If it was from inside the caliper it would mean that it was assembled wrong at the factory. Once again, thanks for checking. You went above and beyond 🙃
As I’m putting the front back together after installing the Helibar tour commander handle bars, I noticed that the two hottom holes that I mention in my video are the lower guide pin holes for the bat fairing.
They shoved grommets behind the light? I can’t see anything that is broken, it seems to me to be an issue of those lower mounting grommets being too loose or like they are two small for their mounting holes.
No that’s just a cover. It almost seems like the headlamp adjustment is disconnected, The headlamp recall may solve it, if not I’ll make sure the dealer fixes it.
So the bag protection bars are on, and what else could go wrong? My new Kern Stabi jack handle hits the bar when I try to jack up the rear. Ugh. Now, I have to modify the handle. It’s always something.
That’s the first after market seat I’ve seen that I would actually consider.. Except for the passenger seat and passenger back rest. The front as a solo seat and something over where the passenger seat would be sweet.
At least they provide a handle to help pick up the bike :). Speaking of scratches, I noticed a nice scrape on the bottom of my exhaust forward of the left floorboard from cornering. Yikes. Anyway, I used some 1/4” spacers to lower the Dr. Jekyll exhaust so I could get the bars on. It’s still not...
I had a tip over due to the kick stand retracting due to me not paying attention and it snapped back. The bags didn’t hit but it did rest on the bottom of the OEM exhaust.
Yeah, I remember you telling me that. The top mount of the WL bar mounts at the same location as the Helibar. I’m going to try and use some spacers to drop the exhaust a bit to try and get the Helibars to fit, it might be cool to have both installed :) There might be some WL bars for sale soon.
