I test rode an RS recently at a demo event and was surprised at the amount of heat it gave off. I personally didn't like it and was happy to get back on my R18 which oozed much more character than the RS did but perhaps an exhaust would bring some of that out. Let us know how you get on with it.

I had the opposite effect, was not as throaty/rumbly to me but more smooth when I disconnected the electrical connectors ... clicked them back soon after and prefer it that way.

Honestly, save your $ as I understand that they're not much louder than the stock pipes as they also have to abide by the Euro rules for sound with that item.

Do you mean to then pull the battery out? I haven't had much luck trying it once or twice so left well enough alone and connected accessories to the remote terminals instead.

It's quite the job to disconnect the battery on this bike mind you.

Are you just trying to divert wind above your helmet? I bought this off Amazon and use it during the colder months ... works great and relatively cheap.

I have the same seat without the passenger seat and it does indeed seat you closer to the front ... I thought I'd have to buy bar risers after test riding the bike with the stock Classic seat but I'm fine now with the stock bars as they came.
