Yes that big TFT is pretty pointless without a navigation system. Even more so since the heated grips/seat really should have their own dedicated buttons.

I'll have to try them winglets if spring will ever come... Also I see from your picture that you have your phone on the bars now. Would be interesting to know if you could get better/stable wireless connection to the TFT this way? Or have you completely given up on the BMW app?

Thanks. I'll take my first ride soon, I'm guessing it'll be too loud for my comfort. It's the highest whine I've ever heard on any bike.

I think I have that fuel pump whine on my R18B FE 2022. There's a high whining with ignition on, but I haven't taken a ride yet on the new bike so don't know if I'll be hearing it whilst riding. Should I get the software update immediately or wait until the first service? It doesn't sound right...

Some argue that surface area has a great significance for visibility, so smaller blinkers (or rear lights etc) might not be as visible as bigger ones even if they are brighter. Personally, I think that makes sense, especially on a bright day. But I'm not into small blinkers so haven't compared.

Bike is new and I'm considering the alternatives for charging. So the crocodile clamps is a temporary solution. My next step would be to confirm the correct charging voltage for the battery. It seems that 14.7V is appropriate for many AGM batteries, but I probably should check what applies to...

Thank you for updating your post and clarifying the 14.2V with engine off. Your picture in the other thread was what triggered me to start this thread in the first place. In a few weeks I'll ride my bike for the very first time. Out of curiosity, I'll keep an eye on the voltage immediately...

The argument for only charging periodically, e.g. every two or three weeks, would be that overcharging the battery is more harmful than a slight discharge would be, combined with the suspicion that not even modern "intelligent" chargers can be trusted to not overcharge to some extent. True or...

I don't know how to respond to that - I don't make the assumption that you suggest. And I don't use the 12V outlet as a charging port. And battery discharging with only ignition on is pretty obvious.

Just found this info in the digital manual for my ctek charger (the AGM part is missing from the paper manual I think): I think they're saying that the 14.7V snowfling mode is recommended for AGM batteries regardless of temperature. Strange that the new BMW charger doesn't support charging...

Then I'll stop googling and sit the 3 months out just to hear your professional opinion... Cause sometimes google is your friend if you like to be misinformed...

I'm confused, what do you mean? My Ctek charges at 14.4V or 14.7V depending on mode. The new BMW charger only at 14.4V I think (for AGM, correct me if I'm wrong).
