I wonder if the discomfort they were feeling was really due to the rear suspension.
I have a hard time believing that they found all of those BMW/Mustang seats uncomfortable.
Personally, I find my Cross Country seat extremely comfortable, if a bit too large, but the rear suspension is far from...
I understand that ergo is very specific to each person so no quarrel with the author. But jeez... those people commenting on that article, particularly those who haven't actually ridden the bike vex me greatly.
I think BMW made the stock seat to complete a look. It's definitely not a...
I have a FE Base model. I was one of the first to get it so I got to partake in the excitement and the novelty of the bike and that's was worth it to some degree. But with that mostly worn off... I do wish I had, at the very least, waited to get one with CC. I love the aesthetics of the naked...
I much prefer Rock mode as well.
After the tune, it idles at a more consistent rpm in Rock mode.
I use Roll mode only on the highway or when I want to eat miles. Given that mine didn't come with CC, muted throttle response of Roll mode makes it for a smoother and more comfortable ride. This...
TRDL: Phenomenal customer service. Many small changes leading to an improved package. Would recommend BT.
I've ridden the bike with the tune for about 500 miles now.
I wasn't going to post a review as I am a bit paranoid that if I ever needed warranty work and BMW somehow found out through my...
Very nice! Please report back with your riding impressions!
I've been wanting a solution to the bar being so far away. I've been reluctant to order aftermarket "risers"/pull back as they detract from the aesthetics of the bike.
As I have the Cross County seat, it's unlikely that I'll go your...
I use Bondhus T handles with smaller fasteners and a Snap-On set of Torx sockets.
I found that I gravitate towards Bondhus handles wherever possible.

I have only put about 4000 miles over two R18 FEs (one totaled in a deer incident). The rest of the miles I've done are spread out between other bikes in the garage. (I'm feeling a bit insecure about the low mileage figure lol!)
But in that time, I've gotten used to using the rear brake much...
I had my bike professionally paint corrected along with PPF and ceramic coating.
I was annoyed after the first service when I saw swirls on the tank from the dealer cleaning it after the service. To be clear, I wasn't annoyed at the dealer but at BMW for putting such soft paint on the bike.
The...
This is my train of thought as well. I do hope BMW does well with these but they're not versatile enough for me to justify spending that much on one. I might snag a full dresser if their price tank in a year or two.
With my first R18, I hit a deer and went off into a ditch full of leaves and branches. I was going about 35 mph at the time.
The bike was on it's side right on top of the deer cylinders straight up and down. It was easy enough to pick up off of the deer.
With reverse, I was able to get it...
