What an incredible machine. Riding one is to know that BMW hit the market sweet spot.
This meticulously kept 2023 metallic black, with ceramic coating, comfort seat, and Marshall speakers,
is an eye turner. MAX BMW performed all scheduled maintenance. TFT screen cover and 7690 mostly highway...
I spent 3 hours at a Harley Dealer who tried to outfit my 2024 R1800 TC
with footrests. Some of the attempts look like the ones you provided a link for on eBay.
We started at Lake Placid, NY, and the Harley dealer (my riding buddy had a 2024 Harley Street Glide),
and the dealership was in...
I rode my 2023 R1800 TC (after the headlight assembly was fixed) from Lake Placid to Atlanta.
My comrade was astride a 2023 Harley Street Glide. When we reached Atlanta, he was ready for a new
pair of boots (the ones he started the ride with literally fell off his feet), and I was hot to trot...
I wrote my dealer today about an appointment and the compensation payment toward R18 accessories. I'm thinking the 719 Comfort seat might save me from paying $1000 for a Corbin replacement.
The forums for the BMW LT, K, and R bikes have increased the joy of my riding experience a thousandfold.
I found critical information on the forums, such as how to navigate safety recalls. Of course, one of my favorites
is Farkle stories and photos (I had to look up the meaning of Farkle)...
Thanks so much. The two recalls are surmountable. My nearly 5K on the TC has been spectacular,
and that's having a K1600GA in the garage and the joy of having had two GTLe's.
Ride safe,
Robert
Thanks a ton for your reply. I searched all of your posts and couldn't find the compensation letter.
If you still have it, please attach it again. Due to the light assembly recall, my 2023 TC was landlocked at the dealer for 4 months.
The reverse recall did not appear on the BMW recall page...
Today is the first I've heard about the $1000.00 credit.
Thanks, Forum members!
My reverse mechanism was disconnected earlier this week (Tuesday, 2/25)
while I was at the dealer for a wire to be connected to the battery for my heated gear.
Please let me know where I can get the...
I own both bikes. I'm thinking about trading the GA for a 2024/25 GT (prices seem to be shooting upwards, though).
A comparison between the K1600 GA (2019) and the R1800 TC (2023) is precisely what I spent the last half of 2024 doing. I picked up the TC when it finally got set free from a...
"Don't Leave Home Without It!"
Protect your Transcontinental from paint-etching bug acids, stone chips, scratches, nicks, and even winter road salt and sand with paint protection film (PPF).
I’ve adopted a strict policy of installing PPF on all my bikes before hitting the road—and my 2023 BMW...
Adirondack romp for first 4500 miles off the dealer showroom CT to Lake Placid to the Smokey Mountains and home again).
I love adding TC to my garage with K1600GA and R1200C. Love it.
Can we skip winter this year os I can ride another 5000 miles?
Good luck.
The actual fix is easier than all the fuss it generated. I waited 4 months to take delivery of my TC. (It as worth the wait).
I picked her up July 7th and have nearly 4K gloriius miles logged. The grommet did the trick. My dealer was very supportive, too.
Super!
Lots of riding weather until the deep freeze of winter.
Black Swan and I have ridden 3600 miles since our trek home a month ago.
Love the TC,
Robert
Oh, there were a number of us waiting anxiously for BMW to issue a fix. (I checked the safety recall site almost daily). My headlamp, with the 2023 TC sitting on the showroom floor, was fixed the week of June 10th. I've put 3500 miles on the TC since then. Not a single issue.
Good luck. I would...
