    Draining the oil condenser hose

Mine is exactly like the picture earlier in the thread. It has a plastic fitting that seems to be called a bird beek. From what i have read the bird beek allows the oil to drip out when the engine is off but closes tight when the engine is drawing in air so that the drain does not pull in water...

    Draining the oil condenser hose

I ended up buying a mat to put where my 2023 R18 Classic is parked. I just bought it new in September (10 months ago) at a heavy discount. From the day i brought it home, after every ride, that little oil condensation pipe drips a single drop of oil. I have a 2016 R1200 that has never dripped...

Garage Door opener solution on R18 Classic

That is cool. But i have a 25 year old garage door opener that is barely smart enough to open.

Garage Door opener solution on R18 Classic

Yes, that is exactly what i did on the first fo round. Flip the board over and you can solder on the back really easy. I built this as my first thought but i didnt like that i had to change the battery periodically. And i wanted something that would only work if the bike was powered on...

Garage Door opener solution on R18 Classic

I am writing this because I searched for a solution and couldn't find anything that was elegant for the R18. But in the process of building this solution I turned a very simple "off the shelf device" into a more complex project. You could easily eliminate all of the complexity of the relay if...

Right side trip panel (covers toolkit) popped off

There was a sticker on the back of the one i retrieved. The local dealer ordered that part which showed up in the system as "mineral white" so i am hoping it will be matching color. But you listed the badge? I had assumed it would have the R18 silver badge as part of the panel. I will find out...

Right side trip panel (covers toolkit) popped off

My right panel popped off. $500 to replace. I didnt see this thread but came up with a similar solution. I thought about using a wire cable like in this post, but went with a heavy string instead. My thought is that if that panel pops off and somehow snags or catches, the string might break...

    Lost side panel

I am not alone! :) I used string instead of wire because i worried that there might be an incident that the panel came off and snagged on something. The hope is that the string would break before doing more damage to the motorcycle.

    Lost side panel

Im not complaining about the cost and fully acknowledge my error in attaching the panel. My intention of the post was to warn others to not make my mistake and to offer up the idea of tethering it to the bike should an attachment mistake be made. It was my failure, but others can benefit from...

    Lost side panel

I considered repainting it, but when it hit the ground at speed it got fairly bent up. The bottom attachments barely align bow and the back side is split. The logo is broken also. My OCD wants it to be back to original.

    Lost side panel

The panel in the image is the one i picked up off the road when it fell off. The replacement is on order and is expected to arrive at the shop in a week. So right now i have to cringe at the scars every time i look at the bike.

    Lost side panel

I bought a 2023 R18 with zero miles from a dealer. Great deal but as soon as it got cold the battery wasnt sufficient to start the bike. Similarly the remote battery was weak. Well, as a new owner I set out to replace the battery in the bike. I also have a R1250 that i have replaced the...

BMW Nav V Prep kit on R18 and display of CANbus information?

This idea will probably offend folks that like the purist look of the R18 Classic. I have read through the forum post for adding GPS Nav V to a R18 but that thread focuses on just getting the GPS functionality resulting in it missing that the Nav V can display a lot of information about the...
