    R18 Touring Transcontinental

I can agreed with all your previews except one for me. I’m heading across the country from Cali to DC through the middle, and eventually back home across the gulf coast. I am at about 1100 miles into the trip and the ease of controls, functionality of the TC luggage, and phone charging and...

    Cost of first service

Not sure how Cali is cheaper than most prices listed here, but first service check up at 600 miles (really 1000km) was $240 at a Temecula, CA dealer.

What did you do to your R18 today?

Makes it a more finished look. Had to look for myself and ya that’s factory, I have the same “missing part” appearance.

What did you do to your R18 today?

Looks great and I like the incorporated white piping on the seat.

What did you do to your R18 today?

Yes, it is an aftermarket design of the HD Tour Pack. My travel bag which is too tall to fit in the top case fits perfect on the rack. Down sides: 1) the rack pushes the limit of the hydraulic posts except at fully open position, 2) the inside molded top case lid needed modifications to accept...

Thanx, that’s the response which helps me pull the trigger this Saturday.

    Hi from SoCal

Ortega is fun! Still have not made it up to Glendora Road or Angeles Crest. Dealing with traffic to get to your area puts me off.

    Hi from SoCal

Very nice. You would be very surprised what has happened in the last 15 years. About 50 more wineries, more twisty dirt roads paved over for our enjoyment, and "Old Town" where the car shows are held is self-sustaining with more hotels and food than any of us need :-)

    Hi from SoCal

We should get out then since you're right done the street. I live off of Leon Road near Scott Road.

    Hi from SoCal

Thanx for the input, so no looking back or regrets buying the R18 TC? Or did you keep the K1600? I am torn between the platforms as I have about 25 years of sport bikes and love to canyon carve but getting up there in age and the RT was a bridge bike for me to leave the sport world.

    Hi from SoCal

Nice pics!!! I am actually going to sell the RT. Its a 2009 with 80k miles. It has more life in the boxer of course but its starting to act up (throttle bodies, intermittent compression loss, TSPs, etc.)
