They had received an email from BMW ref the headlight issue. Basically telling them to check the
adaptive headlights when bikes are brought in for servicing etc. I shall keep asking them about the
situation when I have reason to pop in.
When I had my bike serviced, Bahnstormers in Farringdon were aware of the headlight issue. Last
time I was in there I asked but no further news on a fix. Mine is still working properly, & very useful
on the country lanes on the ride to work in the morning.
I don't have room for one of the hard wall shelters, they were my first choice but all too big for my garden,
the folding canvas ones only work as I can leave it open during the day for the wife to get her mobility
scooter out.
I assume you mean the speed given in the small square next to the digital speed
reading. This figure comes from the map info in the connected app. Check in the
connected app on your phone & see if there is an option to change the units to
MPH. Under app settings there is a distance setting...
I'm running michelin commander 3 tyres on my TC, no problems in
the wet, although I do change to roll mode if it is very wet.
What pressures are you running, as I noticed that BMW set the pressure
at the usual 36 front 42 rear, where the handbook lists 43 & 47psi.
This may be different on...
I received the same letter, the recall is for the retaining clip that holds the
pin in place, not the pin. Booked in to be replaced while they do the annual
service next week.
I get it occasionally on my TC. Usually when I hold onto 3rd at around forty mph
in traffic. I think it is about 3,000 rpm. It is also dependant on the demands you
are putting on the engine, as harder acceleration will turn it off.
Just a random thought, is the main loom different or is it just the last part to the light
itself that is different. Also, can anyone near you let you try an EU spec light to see if the
connectors fit & if it works as intended.
Can your local dealer supply you with EU spec
lights, it should then be a simple swap of the lights
on the panniers.
Although I would have thought that an
imported vehicle would be permitted to retain
it's original equipment as fitted in it's country
of origin.
Mostly in rock, use roll when it's raining, especially after long dry spells, not fond of the
throttle lag in rain mode. I ride according to the conditions at the time, and while I don't
baby the engine, I find I get the best out of the bike with a smooth riding style.
I usually put in around 18 to 20 litres, approx. 4 imp. gallons. I don't
push my luck after the fuel light comes on, it's only 10 miles from
work to my usual garage to fill up, with around 40 miles in reserve
I can get to work & fill up on the way home if I get low on fuel on the way
to work...
I live in the UK, so working in imperial gallons. Fuel warning light comes
on at around the 180 mile mark, showing 40 miles of fuel left. I only use cruise
control on motorways with speed cameras, that way I can concentrate on the
road rather than the speedo. I usually keep my speed fairly...
With my TC I'm getting about 45mpg with mixed road types. Longer runs at
steady speeds in the sixty to seventy mph area see this improve to 50mpg +.
average tank range is around 200 miles
