I put them on in December. 50+ pound weight savings, and I, personally, love the sound. Your mileage will probably vary - these pipes are not for everyone. Do this - take your stock pipes off and take a trip around the block. If you like that, you'll love the shortys.
old thread, but I'm guessing there's at least 2 different part numbers for kickstands...one for the 16" front+rear tire models, and a longer one for the Rocktane 21"/18" inch tires....other bikes maybe meet somewhere in the middle? Contractors showing up as I type, no time to look it up...
I love my crash bars - fortunately I haven't put them to the test yet. Just really glad they're there...rode twice this past weekend, continuing my pattern of getting out at least once a month every month of the year. Global warmings' gotta be good for something right? :(
Here‘s My cold weather combo - inner coat is EMS down, the type that can fit in your pocket when balled up. Outer coat is a heavy generic biker jacket from nowhere Pakistan. Purchased in a thrift shop a decade ago for twenty bucks. This combo got me from seacoast NH to Brattleboro Vermont a...
My bike just lost 50+ pounds (estimated) - replaced the stock chrome Akropovic 100 year exhaust with Pro-Race shorties. Loud AF when I want it to be, just loud enough otherwise. I’ve had it with cagers pulling out in front of me at intersections, and every little bit helps right?
Did you try rotating the shifting lever slightly? Makes a huge difference, takes about 10 minutes...you can definitely create enough room for the biggest feet, and chunkiest boots ...
I love the buying in bulk approach. If only we could get BMW, in writing, to say 75W-90 is ok to use. 2.8 years from now, it won’t bother me at all to try something different…
I felt a solid click thru my clutch lever at the beginning as well. My bike had 5 tech prep miles on it, no test drives allowed. Dealership states it’s somewhat normal - but it freaked them out when they first started putting this bike on their floor. They thought they effed up their bike prep...
Interesting.....I read somewhere it was about 50%....this being the biggest market where they want to steal Harley's market share. I'll ask next time I'm over at Max BMW.
While under warranty, I think I’d have a hard time justifying 75/90 when the book says 70/80. As soon as I used 75/90, Murphy’s law would bite me in the a$$.
When I bought mine, there was a dealer in North Carolina had one listed for $17.2K. “Demo”, but low mileage. 3 grand reduction from retail. I called from New Hampshire - they wanted $500 more for dealer prep and $500 more for sales admin fee. I told them I’d pay half their fees but no more...
Dumb but necessary question: is there a verified case where bike owner gets a tune, then runs into BMW dealer who tries to void the warranty? Perhaps we’ve got some BMW sales or tech employees who can weigh in with real world examples? Personally I’m happy with my hp and torque - all I’d like...
The seat is visually beautiful forever, and physically bearable for a smidge less than 90 minutes. Mine is now securely stored away, replaced by the BMW/Mustang Cross Country Seat.
68227765AB. THIS is the Mopar part number for the 70W-80 API GL-5 Gear oil we need for our r18s. Why is this number important? My local Mopar dealer swore up and down that Mopar does not carry any gear oil of this spec, period full stop. I just ordered 4 quarts from CariD at $17 per quart...
I did my 600 mile oil and filter change last week in my garage, using the BMW oil and filter. Going forward I’ll probably save a few bucks with Motul or Mobil 1 (which I’ve used in all my BMW cars for 20+ years). I plan on keeping this bike forever, so I’m not super concerned on the warranty side…
I picked up my Mustang Cross Country seat from Max BMW last Thursday. They’ve got a 2024 Rocktane on the floor! So now we basically have 2021 thru 2024 new, lightly used, leftover and demo bikes all competing against each other. This puts huge downward pressure on dealer pricing, across the...
