Looks to like it’s been broken for a while, looking at the shear fracture of on end pictured. I would think that if the bike is still within the warranty period it would be covered due to the nature of the failure. Hard to say without close inspection but in my opinion, from what I can see...
Here is a better picture of the IP67 connection to the harness. The connector has the mating wiring colours, also it is factory blanked off, so don’t try and connect to the blank like i did :)…..didn’t take long for the penny to drop…..
The lights are activated via the bottom of the mode button...
I added these BMW fog lights and was successful in wiring the OEM IP67 supplied loom into the bikes wiring harness. It required some time to locate and workout how to do this, also, there were other posts and some threads that were extremely helpful in getting the lights in and functional using...
Interesting post, the more that do the wiring the better, my parts are coming, so hopefully it will be before Christmas break. What was the connection between the switch and the new loom like? was it a plug or did you wire it to the terminal posts within the switching block ? (hope that makes sense)
Rock, why the hell not, I’ve only had my R18 for three weeks and it’s predominantly in Rock, it’s unique to the machine and reminds me of all the other vibrating twins I’ve owned….some worse than others……
Hi Anibal, there are pages of interesting reading and singular posts with snippets of information on this site, it’s probably just a matter of finding out if it actually works on some variations of the R18 or not. There is the unknown ?? :) Cheers Mick
I found these pictures in the R18 forum here, which bikes and models are not known to me and i haven’t gone much further than that…… I was looking at doing something like putting in a sender and wiring in a gauge for the oil temp…..but might look a little further now…..
Thanks for the quick reply Scott, I am planning the same, and I was going to power it up using the AUX power, if it trips anything, i'll just give it full noise from the batt...Button integration is looking painfully expensive with plenty of extra expense for fuck all result...imo :) I'll follow...
