Hello Gerard. Same question from me. Was it only a Software-Update? My second pump was silent at the beginning. After 7 day in the alps with 3000km the noise came back, but not yet as loud as with the first pump. I wish you a pleasant ride.

Hello gerard, i can hear it clear. And it is equal to the noise at mine R18 was. I have reached 10.000km this weekend with the second pump. The second pump is again louder as after the changing, but not yet as loud as the first one.

Yesterday I gave my R18 to the 10.000km service at the BMW-Dealer. Actually there is no official information about a solution from BMW in correspondence with my FIN-Nr. of the Bike. BMW will be stay quit untill there customers get louder.

Hello Tim, i think, you dont have to accept that. The dealer have to record it and send it to the headquarter. The headqurter will give a yes or no. Interesting thing is, that some members have information about a software update to solve this problem. I wonder if that info is right. Try again...

Hello Gerard, I just came in from a short ride. My second fuel-pump is beginning with the same sound as the first. I have to wait for a solution that will bring a permanent help.

A german owner gave information about a software-update to solve this problem. O-Tone of his dealer. He will go in september to solve this. I think it is a false info. We will se.

Here my latest infos. My pump was changed. Now it is at a normal noise. After over 3000km yet it is a bit louder but not disturbing yet. I hope it will stay quite.

You don't have to change the pump if the noise is normal. The change will damage more than help. Some pumps as mine is out of the range = very hight noisy. The dealer must hear this noise to change it. No noise, no problem. The tool is helpful but not necessary. Take your time, be careful and...

The pump in my R18 will displaced with a new one next Monday. The headquarter has ordered to do this. More later.

I have opened a case about the fuel pump by the BMW dealer. He has made a short video to document the noise. He will send it to the BMW headquarter, and they will say what to do next.

I hope it will stay quit. No wonder they broke the connector. It is so fumbling to disconnect it. And it is for sure the first time they had to do this on a R18. I have made a special tool to push the connector off.

Maybe he has more time to drive his car.

The dealer ask the headquarter what to do. If they change the pump and the noise is gone, all is good. If not, they will ask to change another thing, and so on..... My dealer has no clue yet. Please post your informations.
