Anyone installed a aftermarket Steering Damper on a R18 FE without cruise control?

For R18's, BMW only installs steering damper for bikes with cruise control, wanted to hear if anyone opted to install an aftermarket one on your bike and how's the experience. Is it worth considering it or not?

I have never even considered the R18 needs one tbh. I have had a couple of R850R bikes in the past with steering dampers and didn’t particularly like the feel. Bit ‘syrupy’. I had to replace the damper on one of them because it leaked and you could tell, the steering felt awful, like it had no castor and wanted to flop about with handlebar shake. I got a 2nd hand damper and replaced it to restore calm. Not sure why cruise makes a difference, perhaps because they think the rider may not be paying so much attention or actually holding the bars when they ride over something?
