battery charge quickness

For some reason when I plug my R18 into a battery tender, the light on the tender goes solid green after 10 minutes.
When I use the same tender on my other touring bike, it takes 45 minutes to turn green.
Both bikes get the same treatment.
Is the BMW battery something special?
 
Keep in mind that the battery is being charged while you are out riding; the charger is just smarter - it knows the battery is at float voltage
