BMW R18 Classic rear spring replacement

I just found out that R18B has more spring travel 4.7" than R18 Classic (3.5").

Discounting the preload setting one can do, In the interest of smoothing out the ride quality, can I buy R18B rear spring and install it on R18 Classic? Is this possible?

I haven't dug into it, but I would assume the auto-adjusting rear setup on the B/TC involves electronics the 18/classic don't have. Actually, now that I think about it, the B/TC have 2" more travel or something too, so I assume its a whole different thing.
