Can anyone tell what’s missing in the pics (other than the seat) ?

How about the unsightly gap between the rear fender and the sidecases ?

I always thought that gap gave the bike an “unfinished” look - not befitting the overall attention to detail BMW instilled in the R18B.

Lo and behold BMW offers “filler panels” as an accessory part. I ordered the left and right filler panels before I even took delivery of the bike!

They might even help with road spray boiling up between the bags when riding in the rain - not particularly eager to test that theory though.

Hi there. Nothing is missing, apart from the chrome piece that keeps the seat in place, which is removed as the seat is not there. The fillers you are referring to were not part of the Bagger design, they were introduced when the Roctane was launched (a design evolution), which can be retrofitted to the Bagger since they share the same frame. Scott Semone did this and also made a video in YouTube, which I am sure he will post again to help you with the installation should you need some assistance if the bike on the picture is not yours.
I have ridden my Bagger in the rain and I can confirm no dirty water goes flying around, the fender is deep enough to cope with the water.

Not a fan myself, they make the bike rear end look very wide and bulky, with the air gap (let’s call it) the rear looks sleek and elegant (to me anyway).

Bike in the pics is mine and I completed the install yesterday, but thanks for the YouTube suggestion.

As far as how they look, to each their own. I just prefer the streamlined look.
