Can you add reverse after purchasing?

Just wondering if you can add on the reverse after purchasing and how much does it cost if so? I cannot find any information about that, only buying it upfront.

I thought that was a common feature to all R18 models ... so there would be no need to add it later ...

It wasn’t in the UK, there will be some bikes out in the wild without it, especially since BMW dropped the MSRP

Why I'm wondering if you can add it later, also are they missing other features like TC? I know the lights were an extra and so was the hill start, not bothered about them though.

And official BMW garage said it cannot be fitted after purchasing, so that is a bummer. Either that is because they refuse to or if there is some deep mechanical thing that makes it uneconomical..... I dunno, they just do not do it.

Edit: Looking at this picture it looks quite substantial, however I cannot imagine them leaving out all those internal parts when it's an option. I would have thought it would be in every bike and the only difference is the lever and shroud and maybe something electrical.
