Grinding off the weld on V&H exhaust

Greetings all

Couple pics of the weld on the baffle on the V&H exhaust that I just purchased.

Does just the weld on top of the nut need ground off?

Looks like a pretty solid weld to me, is this similar to what y'all have seen?

Thanks in advance for your comments and advice!

Marion

I have only seen a video but yes that looks like what I saw. I too will be doing that when my V&H pipes arrive. "on back order right now"
I would be interested to see how that goes when you cut the welds.

I think so.

On my Vance and Hines, the nut didn't have a weld, the screw came right off, but the baffle was spot welded to the outside (the inner tube of metal) in three places on both side. Major pain in the neck to grind it off.

That was same as mine worth it though
