Headlight and brake light not shutting off

Hey everyone,

2021 R18 FE 1500km

Starting today, both the headlight and brake lights aren’t turning off after the bike is shut off and powered off completely. They’ve been on for hours now, and I’m considering disconnecting the battery. Anyone else have a similar problem?

This happened once on my GSA, turned it off and on again and it was all ok. I’m assuming you’ve tried this or does it do it every time?

Hope you've got this resolved, but in case not. Aside from starting and stopping the bike multiple times, there's a reset in the menu might have a slim chance of setting things a'right. If it goes to dealer then software update/fault check might be helpful. Otherwise does sound like disconnecting battery. Be nice if it just stopped doing it.

Yeah, after starting and stopping the bike in the garage a few times without luck, I took it for a ride before shutting it off again and that seemed to work. Weird! Seems to be fixed now.

Cool, perhaps it just needed full initialization, with enough motion so the blinking lights turned off, before shutting down again... maybe something to try if there's a next time.

Weird. Even though it’s marketed as a fairly straightforward bike (compared to some), like anything modern I presume a whole heap of diagnostics are going on prior to start up & then upon powering down. Sounds like a glitch for some reason, it wasn’t ‘happy’. Rightly or wrongly I always wait a few seconds extra (after the speedo sweep) before hitting the starter. Glad it’s resolved itself, for now anyway.
