How to keep that R18 rear fender looking good as new?

So add either the base R18 model stock rear seat, else the Weekender rear seat I purchased or don’t put on either if I want to keep the rear fender looking like it does when taken out of the crate? In a perfect world mounting a rear seat would not mar the paint finish on top nor side of the rear fender though I am worried if I put either rear seat on.

Am I worrying for nothing?
Next week I meet my new ride. Might have to call this one Jughead :)

I usually put down some clear bra or similar material under a rear seat that mounts to the fender. It works well to protect the paint. I did it to my R18 and it has held up nicely so far. I can always peel it if I decide to run a solo seat.
