I changed oil and installed my new S40 KandP (NOT K&N) oil filter today before heading out Monday.I have been using thes reusable surgical steel filters with a earth magnet in them since 1999.I transfered the one from my 2014 Chieftain to my 2017 Limited.I have one on my 2022 Gladiator as well.
I kinda like that the KandP filter is a bit longer than the oem(maybe it will help cool).I also have the skid plate so no worries.Fits perfect.
These filters do not use a by-pass valve hence no unfiltered oil on cold start up.I gotta say the engine seems to sound bit quieter on initial start up.
Last thing to mention is KandP going to be the proprietary filter on the new BMW 3millon dollar supercar.Talked to the owner last month and he said aircraft sales are thru the roof because of shortage in supply.He said sales have increased do to word of mouth with no advertising.
The last 2 pictures are with the skid plate installed.
