New Battery - nothing.

Due to surgeries and hospitalizations my R18 has sat, unused for almost 2 years.

I bought and installed a new fresh battery. Nothing; except for a vertical bar of red lines that goes blank.

What do I do?

Double check your fob battery is snugged in properly and have you taken the clear plastic film off the back of it? I’ve only just changed out my fob battery (do it every year regardless). I had exactly the same, bike seemed ‘dead’ with just the red bars you described. I took the battery out, put some methylated spirits on a cotton wool bud and wiped the tangs down and battery face(s). Refitted. Bike sprang into life, started first churn

Maybe if I would use the “right” battery; will try a 2032 instead of a 2025!

Well Shazam! Fresh 12v battery; fresh 2032 Battery, not a 2025 battery; push fob button, in neutral, side stand up, vroom it starts!

LOL that’s terrific . Easy mistake to make, I have to use reading glasses to buy anything in a shop nowadays because I can’t see for sh.., especially if the writing is small.
