My rear brake pads were looking thin. I bought a set of EBC HH (sintered) pads and put them on. Rear breaking improved by a bunch. SO, I did the fronts too. I have better brakes. OE Pads said Brembo on them.
For wear indicators, the OE pads have a small corner of metal that will hit the outside of the rotor before the rest of the pad is gone.

I have an R1200R. It weighs 500 lbs. It has 320mm rotors an real two finger brakes.
Our R18 has 300 mm rotors and weighs 800 lbs.
Go figure.
