I installed R1200C bars on my R18 and like them. It took some shimming since the knurling did not match. I had to shim the brake and clutch levers too.
There were a couple places on the bars where I had to drill a hole that matched the hole on the stock and king ape bars so the grips would fasten. For bar end weights, I went to a metal yard and bought two 5" steel bars about 5/8 inch diameter. I tapped threads into one end of the bars so I could thread a bolt and washer to give it a finished look. The steel bars just barely slid into the handle bars but to keep them there I used JB weld.
The King ape hangers that BMW sells are quite frankly for a taller person with longer arms, so I took them back off.
Until the new brake and clutch lines get here, I still have the king ape lines on the bike.
