R18 Classic exhaust clearance

Hi,
I have recently bought a R18 classic and I note that the clearance between the exhaust centre cover plate and the frame where it is closest to the BMW logo is only about 3mm on the left side compared with about 15mm on the right side, it just looks too close to me, does anyone know if this is normal?
I just wonder if the bike has been dropped and repaired but something is out of line ?

Might just be a factory variance but you can easily loosen up the collar holding the pipe to the header and see if you can adjust it further out (and/or maybe the other side further in).
