I found a post in the past regarding this subject, but can't find it now. Anyway, I'm trying to solve a rattle that I believe comes from the windshield attachment bracket below the headlight. A post I saw in the past showed a picture of the bracket where someone attached a few extra bolts to tighten it where the release tabs are. I was wondering what size the bolts were. Also, if anyone has used felt strips or something to absorb the vibration between the bracket and the release tabs.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Have you approached your local dealership as the Service or Parts department may have some free advice to rectify this?

Tighten the knurled nuts up a little more ...the ones on top of the forks ... and when I say tighten it actually is the loosening direction ... this will put a pull on the clips you are talking about ... no way that can rattle after ...

I did. They couldn't say...
Hi, I think the cause is the two holes, one either side by the release mechanism below the headlamp that for some reason don’t have any screws fitted, the owners manual shows what looks like plastic inserts fitted but mine had none so I fitted two plastic 6mm plastic number plate screws (UK type)
Hope this helps

I ended up buying these inexpensive vacuum caps from autozone. They push into the holes and rattle is gone. No tools or bolts to mess up the chrome and if I loose one, oh well. They come in a pack of 8 and I have yet to misplace one.
