I found the stock R18 seat on the two original models looked good, but comfort wasn't its strong suit. For me, after 3 hours I was desperate to get off the stock seat, while I'd been uncomfortable after 45 minutes. I ordered and received the Weekender seat along with the backrest about 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately, it arrived just as the snow and freezing rain arrived here in the Northeast, so I've been unable to ride with it. It does feel much better than stock sitting on the bike in the garage and provides much better support as it is wider. I feel a ride would be needed to truly see how much of an improvement there is. I don't mind riding in cold weather and had ridden my R18 down to 20F, but cold and wet with ice on the road is where I draw the line. Hopefully it clears in the coming weeks.
I assume your main concern is comfort. If that's the case, forget about the Weekender, the Cross Country, Corbin or any other brand. All you need is a Russell Day Long, period. No ifs or buts. That is the only seat so comfortable that you will fall asleep on a boring ride. Get one and thank me later. For the comfort, not for falling asleep..
I agree, other than my FTR (Saddlemen) I’ve had Corbin seats for over three decades on every bike I’ve owned.
