i have worked and lived a lot in Deutschland ( but in northern Germany) - not BMW country.

I was shocked about the „Berlin Built“ on my new bike ….is that true?

Yup, they switched from Munich to Berlin when the /5 came out in 1969 & since then almost all BMW bikes were built there. I think the only exceptions have been some of the entry level single cylinder bikes. I know my 1997 F650GS was actually built by Aprilia in Italy and the current 300cc bikes are built in India with TVS. I believe every boxer motorcycle BMW built since 1969 was made in Berlin along with the 3 cylinder K75 and all 4 & 6 cylinder bikes since then.
