Upper fork caps

'22 R18 Classic
i removed the windshield from my R18 Classic and there are recesses in the upper forks (see pic) that would look better covered. Saw some upper fork caps from BMW for $129. Anyone find a cheaper solution?

Hmmm ... never thought about that... let me run a few next weekend and see what shipping will be ... but sure why not :)

Cool, thanks. $129 seems like a lot for simple aluminum caps. RSD of course but still. 😉

I have been looking for a set of the RSD Machined Finish fork caps.
Can I ask where you found them?

Go to a hardware store and get a faucet hole cover that will fit.452-b1.webp

Why wouldn't they fit the R18 Classic? It is the same bike in regards to frame and forks.

No, not the same. I know because to install the OEM windshield to my R18 the dealer changed the top of the fork... Later I could take some pictures

I thought the rubber caps were removed to accommodate the windshield mount?
 
Hmmm I just did a look at BMW OEM parts and it list's a 'Cover Plug' @ $3.70 a piece, I am not sure how hat plug looks but I can't even print and ship one for that price :)
Might be an alternative ...

They list them but no one has them.
I just checked with MotoWerks and they say they should be in Germany in January. Who knows when they’ll make it over here.
 
The caps on the classic are much deeper than the base R18. This is due to the windshield support frame which has two plugs that go into the top caps. I had to change the fork caps on my base R18 to use the windshield.
