R18 accessories only for 2021 models

Hi! Does anyone know why some BMW accessories only fit 2021 models? I just got a 2022 R18 Classic and want to add a BMW passenger backrest. However, their passenger backrest only fits 2021 models. I noticed the same thing for the RSD lockable
fuel cap. Thanks!

They were in the pipeline to be released with the bikes and then got repeatedly delayed which is how Wunderlich and Roadstyler have ended up taking the market share.
None of them have the convenience of quick release like a HD one though which is a miss by BMW I think.

I like it! I wonder if it would work with my standard r18 and the canvas bags? If my bag brackets will bolt to them I may only just need longer bolts. Do you have a pic of just the quick detach piece that bolts up to the fender?

I've already got mine and installed it. There where no instructions but it was simple to figure out. Plus there's this video here that may help. The wider ones (my finger is on)go in the back

I’ll second Motea. Installed mine last year and love it, and it looks the part as well. Also fits with after market seats and the quick release is a plus. FYI… if you’re keeping the bags attached get the adapter kits as well. I didn’t and struggled getting aftermarket bolts and spacers to make it fit. Once the struggle was finished I noticed they sell the adapter kit.
