Need Help Roctane seat option and light modification

Hi everyone! I have got a Roctane for a few months, love it but I think some parts need to be upgraded, but I got no clue how to get them finished.

1. The seat makes me significantly uncomfortable after more than one hour's ride, will there be great improvement if I change it into Day Rider or Weekender? I see Day rider is an option on BMWMOTORAD website, I need to know if weekender is possible to be mounted.

2. I also want to know if the two small auxiliary lights on R18 CLASSIC are possible to be mounted on Roctane. I like the original look of them and try to make my Roctane more stylish.

They do have a weekender and day rider for the Roctane that is a one piece seat and not the 2 piece seats made for the classic. To me the Day rider is better than stock but still no good for hour long stretches without a break. Not sure about the weekender but I hear it is far better.

Ok... I didn't find any example online yet... Riding on the stock seat for hours is really pain in my back.

both are only dealer options. Took me a minute to find that out when I first got my R18B, but the only place you can get them from. Some dealers do sell through eBay, but your nearest BMW dealer will be your best option for a Mustang Day Rider or Weekender seat

The Day rider for Roctane is also a 2 piece seat because the passenger's seat cost too...
Today I found that the seat on Roctane is more similar to the R18B than other models.
My dealer told me that Day Rider (Brown, they don't even provide with black ones) is the only seat option for Roctane, except for the Homage.
I wonder if the weekender fits, because friends here keep telling me weekender is far better.
Otherwise I can only choose the Dayrider or look for somebody to custom my original seat.

I purchased the Day Rider when I first brought my R18B and after I received it I found out there were differences in the seats. The R18B, T/C & Roctane all use a one piece seat because they hide wire harness under the seat for the cases and rear tail lights and topcase on the T/C. You can make it fit due to all the mount points are the same but you may run into other issues doing so.

I'm confused, because my dealer provide me with both two pieces swat. BMW MOTORRAD made things much more complicated.

Both of these seats are the Mustang DayRider. The 1 piece seat is for the R18B, T/C & Roctane. The 2 piece seat is for all other versions of the R18

Thank you very much. Now I see, there's only one option. the day rider for Roctane/Bagger. But this is what I found on BMW MOTORRAD's website. Hilarious.

I've tried a weekender seat yesterday, like you said the harness takes the place of the bottom of the seat. That's annoying... I've noticed the seat of the Bagger doesn't have the bracket like the seat of the Roctane.

if you are looking at my seat not the case, I made the seat work because I was not aware that the bikes required different seats when I first got the bike. Since I had plans to get the original seat upholstered and reinstalled I temporarily removed the wire harness bracket just to get the seat to fit. But all will go back once My seat is complete.

I am a new owner of the R18B and also have seat questions. I have the one piece seat- I believe stock. I find it uncomfortable also- needs more/better padding and I would like to have the lip in middle of the seat further back 1/2" or so. My dealer told me the Day rider was the plusher more comfortable seat because its for someone who rides every day. and the Weekender was for the lower mileage rider who just takes their bike out on the weekend! This seems backwards from what I am reading here. Also- I have been thinking aftermarket, and I checked the RDL site and the R18 was not listed. I thought I had seen a Brown one on an R18 on this forum but can't find it- anybody else know of aftermarket options for the bagger?

I think you are correct and it is the opposite where the weekender is a little more comfort than the day rider. My experience is only with the Day rider and to me better than stock, but still not something you can ride for more than an an hour without stopping for a stretch. For the R18B, I was not aware when I got the bike but there are a few wire harness' under the seat so you need to ensure the seat you get is the 1 piece model which is for the R18B. So far I think I have only seen that version in black... I have the brown one on mine because I made the incorrect version of the seat fit my bike since I was not aware of the different versions when I first went to purchase the seat. Also be aware that none of the Mustang seat models have heating if that matters to you.

I bought a second-hand day rider seat and fit it today. A two-piece one just like they show it on the BMW website's configurator. Not like the bagger, there are only two harnesses(for the back indicators) under the seat of Roctane, but it still can't fit perfectly, even if the part numbers are the same. I moved the two plugs and it fits.
The day rider seat for Bagger should be one-piece just like the picture I posted.
The seat question is really annoying.

As I was stating I brought the 2-piece seat (the WRONG seat) before I knew there was a difference and was trying to save others from making the same mistake. I made it fit by removing the bracket holding the harnesses under the seat and re-routing the wires along with using a few spacers under the bolts to lift it a few mm. I also ended up breaking the antenna bracket under the seat and the main reason I would not recommend this for anyone else. I did not plan to have to keep the day rider on mine so long but the upholster I use has been extremely backed up and my schedule has not been in line to meet him correctly to get my job finished

I saw this same comment elsewhere also. It's not accurate. The Day Rider is in fact a two piece seat and can be run as a solo setup.

But it will NOT fit unless you use the included bushing and longer screw that comes with the seat from BMW. The bushing keeps the seat spaced up off the electric connection under the seat. The bushing goes underneath the chrome piece of the seat. Without the bushing it doesn't work.

In my case the bushing and screw were in a small plastic bag taped to the passenger seat in the box from BMW. Very easy to miss it if you're not looking for it...my dealership missed it .

Yes, I temporarily added the day rider to my R18B also because I was not aware that it really was not intended for our bikes. One issue I had is over time, the seat broke the clamp holding the round antenna under the seat. I eventually got my stock seat re-upholstered and placed it back on my bike.
