100 Year Edition R18 Incoming!

2023 100 year R18
Hello all,

Tomorrow I go to pickup a very gently used (only a little over 300 miles) 2023 100 year edition R18. Super excited!
I have had a 2018 Triumph Bonneville T120 since 2020 and it is a great bike. I've just never felt it was a long term keeper for me. That said I stuck with it for going on 4 years now.
Back in 2022 I thought it might be time for a new ride and went and test rode an R18 classic in Mars Red. I liked it but was not into the color. On top of that the price for a new one was more than I wanted to part with.
Recently, I realized it was now really time for a change. I test rode a variety of bikes and saw this R18 come up available. Had to have it! Had to!

I picked up my 100th anniversary model just over a week ago. I also had to have it which is why I purchase it last year. Love it. Easy to ride. Would love it to be louder. Euro standards grrrrr
 
Wow. I like it. you said, bmw beach bar.. the carrier. I like it. I was thinking about it before. I felt that adding a side bag will spoil the look of the bike. carrying a backpack is cumbersome at times and I cannot show off my BMW MOTORAD stiches on the back of my jacket haha. But, I am planning to travel long on this bike and near to adjacent states... so, I would need a bag / carrier. I like the bmw beach bar which can be used from a simple laptop bag to a nice duffle bag for a weekend and some supplies. Overall, I love the style!!!! Nice choice and style.
I spent $3k on Dr Jekill & Hyde exhaust... well, it is a bit loud but not worth it. I was carried away by some youtube videos. strange that mine does not sound like that. Wish I had kept the original custom Akrapovic exhaust on the bike. It is lying in my garage and it is of such high quality and so heavy.

Excellent photo. Which side bag is this? Is this the BMW one? very nice and perfect size. I just need to get one for the right side. I was afraid it would spoil the look of the bike and now I know it does not. your photo is great. thanks for posting.
