I was surprised how easily it cracked and my bike has very few miles on it so it wasn’t dried out.BMW fuel tank connectors have always been crap. I replaced the one on my K1600GT as a matter of course. Over time the nylon the originals are made from gets brittle which isn’t normally a problem until you go to remove the tank or even knock the pipework whilst doing another job.
You’d expect better quality fittings on a premium bike.
The one I got was solid and worked out perfect.Ordering as well since I broke mine. You have any issues with the Chinese version? Always leery of the wuality of manufacturing.
thx very muchThe one I got was solid and worked out perfect.
I’ve seen two versions. One does not have the raised barb on the elbow. I bought the one with the barb because the OEM plastic ne has the raised barb on it.
FYI folks…. if you make the same mistake the OEM part is in the attached pic; #9 - the angle connector, not cheap considering it’s a tiny plastic part. I ordered the fuel hose thinking the connector would come with it since it’s shown in the pic but no. So I wait another week for the part. Also ordered the Chinese aluminum version but that takes 3 weeks to arrive. Got a link to the barb’d one?I ordered the barbed metal one on Ali express for $29. Will keep in my R18 parts box.
All the cool kids are doing it.I am curious. Are people only breaking these when they remove the tank? If so, why are so many people removing their tank?
To access the wiring harness connectors that are hidden beneath the tank.I am curious. Are people only breaking these when they remove the tank? If so, why are so many people removing their tank?
