- 2022 R18 Classic; 2014 Triumph Bonneville

Intro:
Hi Everyone! Super thrilled to say I am now a proud owner of a 2022 R18 Classic. Picked her up over the weekend. Looking forward to exciting rides whenever the weather breaks warm...-ish. I DID take it a for a short spin (picture above) and man, this thing is SMOOTH. I had test rode an R18 Pure/ first edition about 2 years ago and had been waiting to jump on an opportunity to get one. It was between a Classic or the Bagger trim, but after much contemplating and considering my use case (and the vintage looks) I opted for a Classic. I previously had/ still have a 2014 Triumph Bonneville T100 - she will definitely be getting jealous of not getting 100% of my attention.
Questions:
I had run my independent VIN report which showed no open recalls, same as the report provided by used motorcycle dealership. I did not stumble upon the thread regarding reverse gear recall (Recall Campaign No. 24V-716) until today, upon which I verified on https://nhtsa.bmwgroup.com/safetyrecall/pages/motorradRecallSearch.xhtml with my VIN that the recall is in fact open on my bike. Giving the dealership benefit of the doubt that they were unaware of this recall (or on the flip side failed to disclose it to me), what are my options to claim that $1000 towards accessories? Since I have not received a recall notice on my name/address yet, do I have to go thru a BMW dealership for the temporary remedy of disconnecting the reverse gear? (Figured it should be okay since the beauty will be hibernating for the next few months anyways, with hopes of a permanent fix being implemented soon/ before riding season.)
I am also looking for suggestions to part numbers and/or links to the following accessories. The suggested parts do not have to be from BMW Motorrad since I planned on purchasing these items regardless; However if I am entitled to that $1000 towards accessories from BMW obviously I will opt for the ones from them:
- Passenger backrest
- I am leaning more towards one without a luggage rack sticking out behind the back rest but open to consider both types.
- I do not want one cheap quality component to ruin the "build quality" of the bike - especially for something that is easily visible.
- I am seeing them ranging from $200 from amazon or other websites up to $750 from Wunderlich
- Clamp on type windshield deflector for top of Classic's windscreen
- Adjustable side wind deflectors that mount onto the fork or the engine guard
- Foot rest to mount onto the engine guard
Thank you in advance!
