What’s going on with BMW Motorrad R18 accessories in the UK?

Both the R18B and TC accessory pages have disappeared from the UK BMW Motorrad website. Also tried ordering the Roland Sands front brake, clutch and rear brake expansion tank tops from a dealer only to be told that there was only one front set available in Germany and no rear cover available anywhere.
The parts guy thought they were potentially being discontinued.
But they’re still being shown on the BMW website as accessories for the Pure, Classic, 100 Year Anniversary and Roctane?
Anyone know what’s going on?

I noticed that last night. I wanted to find out the cost of RS floor boards for my B and nothing for the B or TC , if fact, it was saying that the B or TC did not exist under the accessories page. Haven’t tried today.

Dunno BobJ, I wonder whether the ‘reverse recall’ and accessories compensation deal has used up all or at least most of the existing RSD stock? Tbh because it is expensive stuff I can’t imagine a great deal of it was sold at full RRP. I have considered it myself but decided it was a bit too expensive really even though it is nice quality.

The B & TC pages seemed to disappear about the same time as BMW launched the mid-term model update.

That had crossed my mind and you’re right - the RSD stuff is eye-wateringly expensive.

Only about half of the RSD accessories listed in the original R18 accessory catalog were ever produced. I’m not surprised that those that were are slowly disappearing.

What’s even more disappointing is I chose the Roland Sands two tone speedo housing cover and reservoir covers with my $1,000 reverse gear recall credit and when i looked at the boxes the parts were made in Taiwan! That was shocking.

BobJ, I’ve purchased Roland Sands accessories from Sierra BMW in Nevada in USA. Their website shows the reservoir covers in stock.
I ordered a machined rear cover from them a week ago using a discount code some kind soul posted on here. I know I’ll be spanked for import duty when it arrives in the UK but all in it shouldn’t be that much more than the RRP here.

Last front set ordered today. Bit of a gamble that I might be left with just the rear cover but it seems to have worked out okay so happy days.

Had confirmation from BMW UK this evening that the covers are discontinued. I don’t know how much of the other RSD stuff is on borrowed time.

Well the machined rear cover arrived today - just 10 days from ordering. Great service from Sierra BMW in the USA. And as an added bonus feature I didn't cop for any UK VAT or Customs duty so I can only assume that because the package size was quite small, HMRC couldn't be bothered with it. All in, the cost to get it posted from the States was less than the UK RRP by a fiver. It's not a lot but to quote the strap line of a well known UK supermarket - 'Every Little Helps' ;)
