Can Anyone Help to find the WiFi Password used by your R18B/TC when connected?

My WiFi connection to my 2022 R18B no longer works. The bike's Software has been updated to latest by dealer and still my phone won't connect to it with WiFi.

Note that the same phone worked before at some point, but both the phone and the bike may have had numerous updates since the system worked last time.

On my phone I can see the "WiFi hotspot" my bike created, but the phone is not connecting to it. When I click on the SSID (shows as "2W-Wifi-****" where **** seems to be some mac address), it asks for a password.

For anyone who has a working setup, could you help to go into your phone and see what that password is? I'm hoping it's a common one and I can try to manually enter it.

Are you connecting via the BMW Connect App? If not, launch the app prior to powering on your bike's TFT.

I had to re-pair my phone with the Model B's TFT, same with pairing my helmet after the Reverse fix was installed
 
Thanks, yes I did use the App. The App shows the usual trying to connect message but eventually failed. I have re-installed the app, reset wifi, bluetooth, remove and re-paired multiple times to no avail.

Maybe you are trying to pair your devices in close proximity to another Wi-Fi access point and it's been seen as RF interference? Try perhaps, moving your bike to another location up the road, and find a place where you can pull over and perform the steps again?

Give the BMW app access to operate over other apps on your phone; in addition, make sure your Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled..
 
Indeed I have done all that, thanks. I think I have narrowed it down to WiFi not connecting. I will try to get another phone to try to see if it's phone dependent.
In the meantime, could you help to find out the password of the WiFi connection? Of course if you found that it is individually tied to your bike please don't share. If it's something like 12345678 please share :) Thanks.

Correct, if everything worked as they should, the user needs not to enter or know the password. The pairing between the App and the bike should have taken care of that.

But this process didn't work for me. So I'm trying to "hack" it to see if it works.

When everything is linked up and working, could you look on your phone, see what wifi network it is connected to? It should be the wifi hotspot that the bike is creating. You should be able to then go to the properties of that link and find out what password it is using. I plan to manually enter this password on my phone to see if it can make it work. Thanks 😊
